Members of the group ring the tower bells of St Alphege Church for service ringing on a Sunday, at other significant Church occasions, Easter, Christmas and after weddings throughout the year as part of the band of bellringers.  Read more….

St Alphege Bookstall

St Alphege Bookstall provides a service to the congregation, to other members of the parish and to the wider community.
It is located in St Alphege Parish Church and works on the basis of trust. Anyone wishing to purchase an item pays for it by putting cash or a cheque in the wall box nearby.  Read more....

St Alphege Choirs

St Alphege boasts a strong choral foundation singing in the cathedral style of the Church of England.  We have a choir of Boys and Men and choirs of Girls and Ladies.  There are regular concerts and recitals by professional artists from all over the country as well as workshops to outreach into the community and schools in Solihull.  We strive for the highest possible standards in everything we do.


Church and Churchyard

The committee’s role is to oversee all aspects of the day to day maintenance items and long term repair, replacement or improvement of the church building fabric, installations and fittings together with caring for the churchyard environment.

Audio Visual Operators

At St Alphege we use an audio visual system to display the liturgy and hymn lyrics at many of our services and to help people to see when their vision may be obstructed by stone columns. The system is operated and maintained by a trained team.  Read more....

Holy Washing

Laundering the white napkins /cloths used at Holy Communion on Sunday and weekdays is undertaken by a team of volunteers who regularly take home and wash the linen, on average, three or four times a year.
The ‘holy washing’ is available for collection on the Monday (following the Sunday service) and the items need to be returned by Friday of the same week in readiness for the forthcoming Sunday services.  Read more….
