Christening, Welcome and Preparation

The group meeting is a compulsory session for parents planning to have their children christened in one of the churches in our parish. During the meeting you will learn more about the service and the significance of the water, oil and the candle within the ceremony. Enjoy some light family discussion while picking up some practical tips for the Christening Day. Hear more about the church services available to you at St Alphege, St Helen’s and St Michael’s. The evening finishes at the font where we say a prayer and light a candle for your child.
Meetings are held at St Alphege Parish Church monthly, on a Wednesday evening from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. Group sizes vary from 10 to 20.
If you would like to know more, or if you feel you’d like to help run the meetings, please email the Parish Office or phone on 0121 750 5350.
